My goodness…

The more I read that title..the more disturbing it sounds. I assure you…this post is about two separate things. A baby bird I met…and a blender

I woke up feeling better then ever, and  had a tasty little breakfast!

As you can see, packed with lots of good stuff! I LOVED this flavor. I am obsessed with anything chocolate+Pb! The Pb flavor was heavy and light on the grass! Just the way I like it Have you tried the amazing grass Pb protein bar yet?

So onto the news of the day…

I made a discovery early this am on our front porch. A tiny baby bird huddled up and it looked pretty ruffled/shaken up. It was also poopin up a storm!

Lee, being my hero, came to the rescue…

First,  we put the baby bird in the box and observed from inside… the mama bird came down a few times and fed it worms. We figure that after yesterday’s storm (big storm, power went out for 2 hours) that it must have got knocked from it’s nest.

We then moved it up the tree and hope it doesn’t fall out! It is close to the nest, though.

After all this excitement with the birdy..we went to a local greasy spoon for lunch. We like to meet near the end of the week and just have a nice lunch or dinner together, catch up on the week. We usually don’t see each other during the week with lee working

I ended up getting a chicken burger with fries. The big doughy white bun turned me off, so I ended up only eating half of that and only half the fries as well.

Something else exciting happened today!

Remember how I said I ordered something really fun in the mail? Well that is half true. Here’s the scoop. I had ordered a vita mix on csn.com and the more I thought about it, the more it felt wrong to spend so much on a blender! Believe me, you can ask Lee how long I toiled over this decision, probably a few months!! I compared the Blendtec and the vitamix over, and over. Finally..it came down to Lee basically saying, “The blendtec has a higher horsepower and it is cheaper…just get the Blendtec”. Also, a local health food store that we go to  uses the blendtec (they have 4 of them) and they make killer smoothies!

Yay! Decision made. Oh.. by the way .. almost 300 cheaper! But, hey, if you do have a vita-mix…I’m glad you made the best decision for you It was a super hard decision for me! lol!

You can get this in 4 colors. I rolled with black, as I figure it will go with any kitchen I am in

I can just press a button and voila! Like today, when I wanted to make ice cream…I entered that and for 45 seconds it crushed away (speeds up and slows down all by itself) and at the end of the cycle…I had mango ice cream!

Mango Ice Cream

1 cup 1 percent milk (could also use almond or soy)

2 cups frozen mango

3/4 cup sugar or convert for agave/maple syrup

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

3/4 cup of ice cubes

Yields 4 cups (1/2 cup serving)

I have a feeling the blendtec and I are a match made in blender heaven
